Wine Domaine Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee Rouge Red. The basic red Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape and a great example of what traditional, pure Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape means. Over 80% of this wine is Grenache Noir, from old vines with very low yields per acre, while the rest is Syrah, Mourvèdre, as well as several other varieties allowed in the region. Maturation is slow, usually over two years, in old and large barrels. The result is dense, complex, but also noble. It can age for over 30 years.
