Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Collection 246. Collection 246 is the Non-Vintage of the Louis Roederer Collection, although it is a Champagne very different from the other Non-Vintages. It is an imaginative blend of different years. The varietal composition is 36% Pinot Noir, 42% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Meunier, with 10% of the blend having matured in large oak barrels. After the final blend and the second fermentation, the wine remains in the bottle with its fine lees for over three years – which is the minimum stay by law but for vintage Champagnes. The result is acrobatic between power and finesse, but remains complex and intense.
